Supplemental Education Services(SES)/Public School Choice(PSC)
Xenia Community Schools work hard to be able to provide both instruction and intervention that meets the needs of almost all of our students. However, in addition to these services we offer Supplemental Education Services (SES) and Public School Choice (PSC) for students attending schools identified as being in “school improvement”. During the 2010-2011 school year 429 students who were enrolled at McKinley Elementary were eligible to participate in the Supplemental Educational Services Program. Of that number, based on parent requests, 4 students received supplemental tutoring. All students attending Cox and Shawnee (587) were offered the opportunity to participate in the School Choice option. A total of 22 students participated in the School Choice Option.
During the current, 2011-2012, school year parents of students attending Cox and McKinley Elementary schools may choose Supplemental Educational Services, or Public School Choice.. Those choosing Supplemental Educational Services may click http://dnet01.ode.state.oh.us/ses/ProviderLookup.aspx for a list of state approved providers for our area. Under the Public School Choice option, parents of students attending Cox, McKinley or Spring Hill Elementary schools may choose to attend either Simon Kenton or Tecumseh Elementary School.
Parents needing additional information may contact Jill Adams, Title I Coordinator, (937) 562-9015.
