Xenia music teacher performs with Cavalier Drum and Bugle Corp at championship

Tecumseh and Shawnee elementary school general music teacher Don Avery recently performed with the Cavalier Drum and Bugle Corps Alumni Corps at the Drum Corps International World Championships. 

The alumni corps members represented all 60 years of the corps history.

Don played snare drum in the Cavaliers in 1979 and was also selected to play snare drum in the alumni corps.

The corps repertoire included “Sing, Sing, Sing” from 1957 & 1982 and “Bully” from 1967, as well as many other past Cavalier favorites from the 50’s right up to the new millennium.       

The Cavaliers are from Rosemont, IL, and are 19 time national champions.
