Xenia Community Schools Foundation seeking nominations for Hall Of Honor

The Xenia Community Schools Foundation is seeking nominations for its Hall of Honor Class of 2011 and will accept nominees until Nov. 1 at the Xenia Board of Education, 578 E. Market St., Xenia.

The Hall of Honor was established by the XEEF Board 13 years ago and its inductees serve as role models for students and citizens. Both alumni and school advocates/community leaders have been enshrined with a plaque in honor of each displayed in the entry to Xenia High School.

Nominations forms can be found on the district website (www.xenia.k12.oh.us) under the Xenia Community Schools Foundation link or can be picked up at the Xenia Board of Education offices. Completed nominations may be mailed, dropped off or faxed to (937) 372-4701.

The Xenia Community Schools (XCS) Foundation was organized in 1985 as a nonprofit organization to support programs that encourage achievement of the highest standards for all Xenia Community School district students.

The Foundation is governed by a board that consists of representatives from the Xenia Education Association, the Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce and the Xenia Community Schools Board of Education.

The goals of the Board include becoming the major charitable fund for those interested in improving the quality of education; building an additional non-tax base of support for the Xenia Community Schools; supplementing the educational needs of the district by bringing new resources for enrichment to the classroom; and much more. As state funding continues to spiral downward, local financial support becomes even more critical.

For more information, call the Xenia Board of Education at (937) 376-2961.
