Students and staff of Xenia Community Schools were recently honored at the Xenia Board of Education meeting for their accomplishments in the classroom. The monthly awards were presented by XCS Supt. Jeffrey K. Lewis, Ed.D., on behalf of he board.

Xenia High School student Dakota Anderson was honored for being named Student of the Month by the Ohio Lottery.

Shawnee Elementary School teacher Janet Kindred received accolades for being named Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery.

Brady O'Callaghan was honored for being named a 2009-2010 National Merit Commended Scholar.

Warner Middle School teacher Holly Keadle received a Pride Certificate for her leadership in creating the water ecosystem at her school.
