A trio of Xenia students received Pride Certificates from the Xenia Board of Education at their November meeting for outstanding achievement in the classroom and beyond. Pride Certificates are presented monthly to Xenia students, staff or community leaders who demonstrate educational leadership, achievement or advocacy. Xenia High School (XHS) student Elizabeth Schumacher volunteered to become a pen-pal with a student from Germany whose name is Xenia; XHS student Alex McCoy was honored for his selection to the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and his seat as first chair; and XHS student Brandon Isaacs was honored for being named a commended student in the 2011 National Merit Scholarship Program.
