 Soil samples were taken this week at the sites of the five new elementary schools to be built in Xenia as part of the Ohio School Facility Commission project. The State of Ohio is paying for almost one-half of the total construction cost. D and T Drillers Inc. are shown at Shawnee Elementary School as samples are taken to prepare for the foundation work on the schools. Artist renderings, accent colors and interior designs are currently being finalized by the distract and contractors. Ground breaking for the project is expected to happen in early 2011 for all five schools.
