Xenia Community Schools announces $5 million in Budget Cuts and asks Community to submit their Questions

At the Xenia Board of Education meeting held last night, January 10, 2011, at Xenia High School. Superintendent Deborah Piotrowski laid out $5 million in reductions for the 2011-2012 school year. These reductions include the closing of two elementaries, Arrowood and Shawnee, the consolidation of the middle schools along with a number of other reductions. This presentation made to the board last night explains in detail the need for the cuts as well as an explanation of the cuts as well as some of the reasons why these were selected..

Because we know that there are still a number of questions remaining amongst our staff and community, Xenia Community Schools has established an e-mail address and telephone contact to allow staff and community members to submit questions regarding the budget cuts for the 2011-2012 school year.

Any community member having a question regarding the plan may leave a message at (937) 562-9057 or email their question to ask@xenia.k12.oh.us.

All questions will be answered here on the Xenia Community Schools district website.
