This list of web resources are for students, parents and teachers.
| Harcourt Math Free materials available for teachers, parents and students. There are hints and tips for teachers and parents along with worksheets and activities that you can print for your children. You will also find a link that will allow the students to work on math ideas and concepts on the computer. There are numerous interactive math activties that reinforce basic math skills and provide great entertaining practice. |
PBS Kids Cyberchase This site has tons of interactive games. The section called “Number Machine” has activities that deal with ordering. There is also a game called “CAN YOU FILL IT?” This is a fun game teaching conservation and volume using water and cylinder objects |

| Funbrain This site allows the student to pick a grade level before doing an activity. It has many games and activities plus resources for teachers. The games are not as elaborate as some of the other sites, but are still good learning tools and may be better equipped for computers without shockwave. The main page includes links for Kids, Parents and Teachers which increases the usability for each of those groups. The Parents page, includes a “Homework Relief Center,” links to other good sites (Educational Math DVDs) and printable books. |
Helping Your Child Learn Math This site is a table of contents that contains a multitude of math activities. It also includes some helpful lists for parents. The lists talk about what kind of math children are learning, and how parents can help their children. |
ABC TEACH This site is a great resource for parents and teacher alike. The site is arranged for easy use and is broken down by skill, grade level, or subject. Parents and teachers have access to over 5,000 free printable activities, and there are many links that are sure to keep kids thinking throughout the year. There is a monthly newsletter that parents and teachers can subscribe to. Also available are on-line forums and chat groups for support. |
Coolmath4kids This site describes itself as “an amusement park of math”. Available on the site are interactive games, coloring activities, puzzles, and other pages related to fractions, fractals, algebra and geometry. There are helpful lessons written for parents to use when explaining mathematical concepts to their child. There are suggestions for parents to use when preparing their child for kindergarten and tips on how and when to help with homework. There is also an on-line store available with math related books, activities and t-shirts for purchase. |
AAA Math At this site you can choose a topic or grade level and the find the right subject matter from addition to ratios. This is an interactive website so students and their parents can participate immediately. There are also many links to exciting games and exercises that will intrigue students. By choosing addition, students can begin by counting boxes and move up to counting money for extra practice. |
APLUSMATH This website tests math skills with links titled: Flashcards, Worksheets, Homework Helper & Game Room. The Flashcards test the student’s knowledge over addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square roots and rounding. There is also links to a Flashcard Creator where you can also create Custom Flashcards and print them out for later use. There are worksheets that can be formatted to print or to use interactively online. In The Homework Helper link, students can plug in their addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems to solve them. Under this link students can also access addition and multiplication tables to help them solve their problems. In the Game Room students can access Math, Hidden Picture & Concentration. All of the games tests student’s knowledge over their addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts. |
Awesome Library You will find a wide variety of topics for students, teachers and parents at this website. There are numerous links for different subjects and grade levels. Many subtopics are given for each grade levels, as well as specific mathematic skills that each grade level should accomplish. Assessments, lessons, problem solving and mathematical standards are also provided. This Awesome Library website also offers Dr. Math, which provides an organized structure for giving parents answers to their questions. Students can also get assistance from Math Mentors at this site for help with understanding and completing homework. There is a game link in which parents and children can gain a better understanding of mathematical concepts together. |
MATH2.ORG This website is available in three different languages (English, Spanish & French). This site contains Math Reference Tables. These tables range from General Math, Algebraic Tables, Geometry, Trigonometry, Linear, Statistical, Calculus, and Advanced Math Tables. It provides many formulas for middle school through college mathematics. There is no explanation for how to use the formulas, but there are definitions and is set up to aid someone doing a homework assignment. There are also graphs and functions available for students to use. Links are available for students to access other math-based websites. There is a Math Message Board which is like an interactive website for the students to discuss math topics and questions. It contains an area for students to post a math question called email question and answer service for those really tough questions that even parents have problems with. |

Math Goodies This is a free math help site featuring interactive lessons, homework help, worksheets and forums! There are over 400 pages of activities for students, teachers and parents. Also, there are interactive math lessons which include an exercise at the end. |
COOLMATH.COM This is a fun and interactive website. It includes several subgroups including kids, teachers, parents, game zone and even a science link. All activities are interactive and really creative. The link for parents includes tips about school, other resources and fun activities to try at home with children. |
MATH.COM This website contains interactive problem/answer questions and keeps track of your progress. The site has in-depth explanations of all forms of math. It not only includes basic math skills, but also has interest formulas, fractions, decimals, and measurement conversion. Illuminations This particularly useful part of the NCTM website contains lesson plans, activities and games that can be used at home to teach or drill math concepts. The site covers everything from the NCTM standards, including the process standards such as communication, reasoning/proof and representations. This link should be provided to parents in addition to the NCTM home page for easier usability because it might be difficult or time-consuming for some to navigate through all the other information NCTM provides. More specific links could also be provided in weekly newsletters or in e-mail messages to parents as topics come up in class. |
