How do I register my child and what must I provide?

All registration takes place at the Central Registration Office located on the first floor of the Board of Education building located at 578 E Market Street, Xenia Ohio 45385. Families must provide:

  • Completed Student Enrollment Forms
  • Certified Student Birth Certificate, Hospital Birth Record, or Passport
  • Photo Identification of the Parent/Custodial Parent/Legal Guardian
  • Immunization Records
  • School Transcript Information or Past Grade Card
  • Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for Students with Special Needs (if applicable)
  • Proof of Custody (if applicable)
  • Proof of Residency

Where can I get a school supply list?

School supply lists for all elementary and middle schools can be found at each school.

What are the age requirements for kindergarten enrollment?

Xenia Community Schools offers full-day, every-day kindergarten. Children must be five years of age on or before September 30 to enroll in kindergarten. All kindergarten students must complete a kindergarten screening assessment. Call the Xenia Board of Education Central Office at (937) 376-2961 and ask for Instructional Services.

What is the cost for a school lunch?

Breakfast: $1.45
Reduced Breakfast: $.30
Elementary Lunch: $2.25
Reduced Lunch: $.40
Middle School/High School Lunch: $2.50
Reduced Lunch: $.40

What are Free- and Reduced-Meals?

Some of our children are eligible to receive free- or reduced-price meals through the Federal Schools Meals Program. In order to receive this benefit, eligible students must complete and return the Application for Free- and Reduced-Price Meals. You are eligible to apply for benefits any time your income changes. Forms are available at each school.

Where can I get information about bus routes?

Parents may contact the Xenia Schools Transportation Department, (937) 372-5461, to get information on bus routes.

Is there a fee to participate in athletic programs?

High school and middle school student athletes are asked to $100 for each sport; no fee is charged for elementary school athletes. There is a $200 cap per participant and a $400 cap per family.

Does Xenia Schools offer a preschool program?

Xenia schools offer preschool programs for children between the ages of three and five. Classes meet four times per week for two-and-one-half hours. Preschool classes are licensed by the Ohio Department of Education; children may be enrolled at any time during the school year. Each preschool class has a teacher with a special education or pre-kindergarten certificate with validation in Early Education of the Handicapped Child. A teacher’s aide is also in each classroom. A speech therapist works with individual children, as well as the entire class, on language skills one day a week. Special needs children are not required to pay for tuition and transportation is provided.
