Superintendent Weekly Update

I hope this weekly bulletin finds each of you in good health and having enjoyed a relaxing weekend. The weather Friday night and all day Saturday was not too inviting, but yesterday was gorgeous. I hope you had a chance to get outside to enjoy it.

October is Learning Disabilities Month. It is important during LDA Month to focus less on the disabilities aspect and focus more on the incredible abilities so many of these individuals possess as well as emphasize the phenomenal achievements and important strides so many of these individuals have made.

Superintendent Receives Award

On September 29, 2015 Superintendent Morrison received the Exemplary Educational Leadership Award from the Buckeye Association of School Administrators.  This award recognizes outstanding educational leadership which has resulted in the enhancement and improvement of educational opportunities for the elementary and secondary students in Ohio.  Congrats Mr. Morrison!!!

2 Hour Delay and Early Dismissals Scheduled

In order for staff to receive follow-up professional development related to emergency operations, the following 2 hour early dismissals or 2 hour delays have been scheduled.

Shawnee and Tecumseh Elementary - 2 hour delay - October 14
Arrowood, Cox and McKinley Elementaries - 2 hour delay - October 20
Xenia High School - 2 hour early dismissal - November 6
Warner Middle School - 2 hour early dismissal - November 10

Healthy Halloween Hustle 5K

The XCS Foundation is hosting the 1st Annual Healthy Halloween Hustle 5k Fun Run on October 31, 2015. The event will start at 9 a.m. at Shawnee Park in Xenia. Registration deadline to guarantee a t-shirt is October 23.
