I hope that this weekly bulletin finds each of you in good health and having enjoyed your weekend. Thanks for all you do for our kids. Last Tuesday was Veteran's Day. Thank you to all of our Veterans and thank you to our staff members for helping the children in their classrooms to understand the importance of honoring this day. Special thanks also to Pat Marrinan for putting together a Veterans Day recognition at the high school and to all of the staff members who sent me information on their fathers and grandfathers who have served our great country. Thanks also to the classes who wrote letters to the Veterans. I know that they were very touched and grateful for these letters. The XTAR Social Studies class reviewed the branches of government and then they were shown a brief clip of Veteran's Day. Students then worked in small groups to prepare, research, write reports, create artwork and practice singing The Star Spangled Banner. The class then went outside to the flagpole to honor our Veterans by saying the Pledge of Allegiance, singing the Star Spangled Banner and had students share their reports honoring their family military members and various illustrations. Students then learned more about Veterans Day by playing Veteran's Day Trivia. We must never forget the sacrifices these people made for us!
