Superintendent Weekly Update

I hope that this weekly bulletin finds each of you in good heath and having enjoyed your weekend.   It sounds like the cooler temperatures will soon be upon us.  Thanks for all you do for our kids. This Week is School Bus Safety Week.  Thanks to all of our drivers for ensuring that our students are safe every single day.

FFA Competition- Two members of the Xenia FFA took top honors at the District 9 FFA Job Interview Contest.  The contest was held at Hillsboro High School this past Tuesday.  Xenia FFA members Allison Rapp and Mikal Porter both placed in the Top 5 in their Divisions.  Allison Rapp, Xenia FFA Treasurer, tied for 1st place in the Sophomore Division.  Mikal Porter, Xenia FFA Vice-President, placed 3rd in the Junior Division.  The contest is designed to give students a chance to develop skills that will make them proficient in interviewing with a future prospective employer.  Students fill out a mock job application, create a cover letter and resume, go through a mock interview, and write a follow-up letter as part of the competition.  Brad Lokai serves as the FFA Advisor.  Great job.

Blogging at Central Middle School

All students at Central Middle School have the privilege of using a personal laptop during the school day.  To fully utilize this privilege, the teachers must have meaningful assignments with the laptops.  Ms. Janice Harrison has taught her students how to make a claim and support the claim with evidence. Students used the computer to select their evidence and compose the paper.
