Who We Are

The Shawnee PTO is an organization made up of Shawnee's Parents and Staff to meet the needs of our students. We are a local organization guided by our own by-laws, instead of joining with the national PTA/PTO organizations.

We are parents, just like you, who are interested in improving our children's school and the quality of their education.  We need your input and help.

When We Meet
All meetings are on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in the Shawnee Elementary Library. Below is a list of our meeting dates for the 2009-2010 school year:

What We Do

We try to do anything and everything imaginable to help out at the school.  We are homeroom parents, library volunteers, committee chairpersons, volunteer readers, organizers, and helping hands when needed.  Don't think that you don't have the time or talent! There is something here for everyone.

Our Mission

· To encourage, support and communicate with our teachers

· To promote the welfare of the children

· To bring into closer relation the home and the school, so parents and teachers may work together

· To serve as a sounding board for the school and community, to seek answers to questions and foster better communications

· To determine, plan and coordinate school fundraising activities

· To coordinate parent volunteer groups, aides, homeroom parents, etc.

Nickie Lamb, our Box Top and Labels coordinator, is asking parents of Shawnee children to visit these web sites and register everyday for these sweepstakes.
