            Welcome to Preschool !!!!!!

         What it is...

The children who attend range in age from almost-three to five years of age.  They will be screened for delays in development before starting in the program.  They can start at any time during the school year.  We will offer a continuum of settings, ranging from home, to Itinerant, to center-based.  All special needs children will be transitioned to kindergarten to ensure continuation of services if they are needed.

Please contact Rhonda Richardson at 937-562-9040 for enrollment information.

Our staff are highly trained special education professionals who have chosen to work with children of this age.  We maintain at least one aide in each classroom, and a staff of therapists.  All the children benefit from having the therapist support available, even those who are not handicapped.  We focus on the primary areas of development, including cognition, language, gross and fine motor skills, self-help, personal-social, and preacademic skills.  We teach using the Creative Curriculum, which is aligned with the Early Learning Content Standards to ensure that these kids have the best start possible to their educational adventure.

      Where it is...

There are seven  preschool classrooms.  Spring Hill (regular school calendar) has two classrooms,  Warner (regular school calendar) has two classrooms, Simon Kenton (year round school) has one classroom and Four Oaks has two classrooms (year round calendar).  Each classroom has a morning and an afternoon program, Monday through Thursday.  We assess children on Fridays.  Our Itinerant program provides services to the child in the setting that is most natural to the child's daily routine.  That could include a day care, hospital, home, etc. Our Itinerant services can be provided in a variety of locations, including Head Start Programs, Early Childhood centers, private preschools, or homes.  Itinerant services are provided by a teacher for a minimum of one hour per week.  She acts as a consultant to the parents or teachers to maintain the child's progress in areas of delay.
