Message from the New Principal (2012-13)

Parents, Students, and Staff of Spring Hill Elementary,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share my excitement about my appointment as the new principal of Spring Hill Elementary School. I reside in Beavercreek with my wife (Paula), and we have three beautiful daughters that keep us on our toes. All of our daughters love playing basketball, and this love is also shared by my wife and I as we both coach on all of our daughters’ basketball teams. In addition to basketball, each one of our girls play soccer in the spring and fall.

Before coming to Xenia Community Schools, I spent four years teaching 3rd and 4th grade students in the Sycamore Community School District. After receiving my master’s, I spent ten years serving the Kettering City School District as an elementary school teacher and principal. For the past two years, I have served as principal of Ankeney Middle School in Beavercreek City Schools. While I have enjoyed my tenure as a middle school principal, I realized my heart lies at the elementary level, and I feel privileged to pursue my love of elementary education at Spring Hill Elementary.

I have heard great things about the supportive families and dedicated staff members at Spring Hill. My focus will not only be to listen and learn about the unique strengths, traditions, and practices in place at Spring Hill Elementary, but to also provide leadership focused on classroom instruction that meets the needs of each of our students. To this end, I pledge to work diligently with parents, teachers, support staff, and administration to promote an educational program that is both rigorous and exciting for our students.

I am honored to have been chosen for this position and look forward to working with all members of our school community. I am confident that together we can build upon the great things that are already in place at Spring Hill Elementary to make it even a better place for our students to learn and grow.
