XHS Chemistry Club takes traveling science show on the road to Xenia elementary schools

Puffs of dry ice smoke, a changing kaleidoscope of colors in laboratory beakers, rocketing balloons and surprise appearances by various science super heroes captured the imagination of Xenia Community Schools’ youngest students recently when the Xenia High School Chemistry Club stopped by to visit.

Each year, the XHS Chemistry Club--- led by high school science teacher Bill Richey---visits Xenia’s five elementary schools to put on a chemistry show that illustrates the magic that is science.

The program is funded through a grant received through the ACS (American Chemical Society).
Prior to a school-wide assembly, the students at Cox Elementary School enjoyed hands-on demonstrations conducted by members of the XHS Chemistry Club.
