Athletic Department Announces Corporate Sponsorship
Program
The Xenia HS Athletic Department discontinued printing athletic programs
this past fall. “Athletic programs have run their course and do not
sell as well as they once did,” explained Xenia HS Athletic Director
Kevin Kerr. To give local businesses access to the large Xenia Schools’
athletic community it is announcing a Corporate Sponsorship Program.
The program offers two ways for local businesses to get
their names out to the Xenia Athletic community. First, is through a
banner program. The banner will be 4 foot by 4 foot printed with the
company’s name, logo, and phone number. The banners will be done in
heavy vinyl with a white background and royal blue letters.
During the winter season, the banners will be mounted
in the XHS gym. During the spring season the business owner can choose
to have their banner mounted on the outfield fence in either the
baseball or softball fields. During the fall sports season, the banners
will be mounted on the fencing at the top of the home and visitors
bleachers at Cox Field. “The banners will give local companies great
visibility to all in attendance at Xenia High School athletic events,”
says Kerr.
The second way for businesses to get their names out is
by being listed on the Athletic Department website. The listing will be
linked to the business’ website if desired. “The Athletic Department
website at www.bucsports.info is
very popular. It has the latest team schedules, team pages, and
announcements on event time changes. The site has only been up since
last March and averages over 3,000 hits per month. During the fall
season the site averaged over 5,000 hits per month.” said Kerr.
Banners cost $250 the first year, and can be renewed
for $150 each year after that. The website listing is $200 and if a
business buys a banner the website listing is half off. “All of the
money raised from the Corporate Sponsorship Program will go directly
toward helping support our Xenia High School athletes and teams,” said
Kerr. Anyone interested in being a part of the program should call
Kevin Kerr at 562-9672.
Women's Golf Comes Back Strong
Women’s Golf is looking toward a bright future. After the school not

of the way the girls improved this year. He is looking forward to his

two upperclassmen Senior Itabore Odege and Junior Kasey Kaudill. There
were three sophomores; Katie Kieninger, Sarah Middlebrooks, and Taylor
Tackett plus four freshman; Ronnie Glass, Cassidy Manor, Holly Moody,
and Sarah Rose.
Coach Mignery said, "I was pleasantly surprised at how
dedicated the young golf team was this year. The girls were committed to
practice and concentrated during our tough matches and a strong
schedule. I am looking forward to having a more improved team next year
with Kasey Caudill being a great senior leader and golfer next season".
At the teams award program this week Kasey Caudill was
presented the award for having the lowest average on the team at 44.
Sarah Middlebrooks was given the plaque as the most improved player.
Sarah Rose won the Coach’s Award and the Sportsmanship plaque was
presented to Cassidy Manor.
