Board of Education Update

Update for the Community from the XCS Board of Education
Posted on 03/12/2024
Following Monday's Board meeting, which included a presentation from the district's legal and financial teams, the Superintendent and Board of Education would like to reiterate their commitment to being a good partner with the City of Xenia.

Any acceptable agreement must both make the school district ‘whole’ and contain clear mechanisms that provide for a true accounting of where all the funds are flowing. The district must do its due diligence to ensure that it is protecting the interests of our students and families, as well as every taxpayer who supports the district.

At the conclusion of the meeting on Monday, a motion was made by Board President Mary Grech to authorize school leadership through the Superintendent and Treasurer, with the support of the district's attorney and financial advisor, to "negotiate with respect to the Xenia Towne Square development proposal to best protect the interests of our students, staff, community, and the taxpayers who support our education and services."

The motion was approved unanimously by the Board prior to adjourning the regular meeting on Monday, March 11.
